Carowinds The premier theme park of the Carolinas is adding an attraction based on North Carolina county fairs from the 1950s. With new food offerings and four vintage rides debuting in spring 2017, Carowinds' County Fair will take families back to the fun of yesteryear. Charlotte Motor Speedway Fuel your need for speed at major NASCAR races through- out the year. Car shows, special events, dragway and dirt track races are also hosted here. Only have a few days here? Adventurous visitors raft and kayak on the world's largest man-made whitewater river. The center also hosts a summer concert series and festivals throughout the year. The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, the city's first craft beer producer, welcomes guests with a German-inspired restaurant and biergarten. NoDa is home to award- winning local brews. Several new breweries are scheduled to open during 2017. Tour De Food Chat with chefs, learn city history and sample a variety of cuisine from locally owned restaurants. Tours take place in various neighborhoods, including Uptown, South End, NoDa and Davidson, located near Lake Norman. Topgolf Opening in summer 2017, Topgolf is a sports adventure for the entire family, best known for microchipped balls and a point-scoring golf game that everyone, from kids to pros, loves. National Tour of "Hamilton" Broadway is buzzing with the smash hit "Hamilton," and Blumenthal Performing Arts Center is bringing it to Charlotte in the 2017-2018 season.
