Hyde Brewing Bold Missy Brewery Catawba Brewing 33 Brewing Company Fat Head's Brewery Cavendish Brewing Company Resident Culture Brewing Company Hatchet Head Brewing Company Avenge Brewing Co. DukBone Brewing Craft beer isn't the only beverage being brewed in Charlotte. Check out the refreshing hard cider from Red Clay Ciderworks , made from North Carolina apples. Great Wagon Road Distilling Company turns out smooth ban vodka, Drumlish white whiskey and Rua, a barrel-aged single malt made from pre-hopped mash from neighboring Sugar Creek Brewing Company. Davesté Vineyards , Treehouse Vineyards and Rocky River Vineyards are three of the area's best-known wine producers. All three wineries regularly hold special events featuring live music and local artists. WOODEN ROBOT BREWERY Wooden Robot is as well-known for its Belgian- style farmhouse brews (coffee-infused Good Morning Vietnam is the top seller) as it is for the wooden robot that stands guard over the tasting room. Come hungry; dishes like beer-boiled macaroni and cheese egg rolls from the Twisted Eats food truck were created specifically to partner with beer. Brewery tours are offered each Wednesday; there's yoga on Sundays. FREE RANGE BREWING Brothers Jason and Jeff Alexander don't like to make the same thing twice, which is why they've produced more than 100 craftily named beers (I Knead You is made with Duke's bread) since they opened in July 2015. "We like to have as much diversity as we can," says Jason. That spirit extends beyond the barrel. The brewery also crafts a seasonal alcohol- free shrub and holds other events, like swing dancing, documentary screenings and Thursday yoga. LENNY BOY BREWING CO. Townes Mozer started in the brewery business in 2011 making kombucha — a fermented tea that is gaining popularity. By 2013, the growing company had expanded into beer and is now the only certified organic microbrewery in North Carolina. Lenny Boy is best known for sour ales and saisons using local produce as well as gluten-free ales. SUGAR CREEK BREWING COMPANY An afternoon at Sugar Creek Brewing Company is like taking a tour of Europe without ever leaving your bar stool. Beers, like award-winning French Biére de Garde and Belgian White Ale, were recreated using European ingredients and centuries-old recipes. Co-founder Joe Vogelbacher loves to pair his beers with food. "Try the Biére de Garde with herb-roasted lamb and our Pale Ale against blue cheese," he suggests.
