GayCharlotte Film Festival – April: Celebrate the artistic, cultural and historical contributions of the LGBTQ community and its allies through the power of film. Queen City Theatre Company – February, April, August: QCTC's season features Broadway hits, like "An Act of God," "The Pride," a controversial look at love and sexuality, and "The Nance," about burlesque's heyday. Charlotte Black Gay Pride – July 15-17: This event features entertainment, art, town hall discussions and a focus on empowering African-American LGBTQ individuals. Charlotte Pride Week – August: With events ranging from mixers and dancing to panel discussions and religious services, Charlotte Pride offers something for everyone. The week includes Trans Pride events, a Latin Pride Night and Com- munity Expo and ends with the free, two-day Charlotte Pride Festival & Parade full of music, performers, vendors, art and food. 2017 PREVIEW Why sit at home when such diverse opportunities for fun, recreation and social change abound? Charlotte favorites, like The Scorpio, The Bar at 316 and Chasers, regularly serve up dancing, game nights, viewing parties, drag and karaoke. Not your scene? Watch your favorite sport on one of 12 TVs at Sidelines followed by a friendly game of darts, foosball, pool or giant Jenga. Or sing along at Petra's Piano Bar, an intimate spot known for excellent karaoke and open mic nights. Art buffs flock to the GayCharlotte Film Festival and Queen City Theatre Company productions, and sports enthusiasts can stay active year-round. Stonewall Sports offers amateur league bowling, dodgeball, kickball, running, softball and volleyball. Be sure to catch a rough-and-tumble Charlotte Royals rugby game.
