50 ALL AGES PASS With everything from outdoor adventures to hands- on learning, Charlotte makes it great to be a kid. Go wild with thrilling rides and fascinating creatures, or just curl up and read a book. You can do it all in the Queen City and surrounding communities thanks to an array of world-class attractions for the entire family. Unwind with the kids at Carowinds, a 398-acre theme and water park straddling the North and South Carolina border. It features the world's tallest and fastest giga coaster, a 1,000-foot-long lazy river and live shows. Roller coasters aren't the only fast machines in town, however. Uptown's NASCAR Hall of Fame honors speedy stock cars and their drivers. It boasts a state-of-the-art theater, simulated race track, hands-on activities, exhibits and the popular mascot, Champ the Cheetah. Don't miss the Race Week exhibit, where visitors learn what takes place behind the scenes. Slow the pace in the cultural arts district at ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center, which amazes all ages with dedicated libraries for teens and younger children, interactive exhibits, classes and a multimedia production studio. ImaginOn also houses the nationally recognized Children's Theatre of Charlotte, which presents multiple professional productions each year as well as inspiring educational programs. A short walk away is Discovery Place Science, where STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) springs to life through hands-on activities and larger-than-life IMAX ® films.
